How Solotimize makes money, and the rules that keep it from affecting what we recommend.

Last updated: September 12, 2026

Solotimize is reader-supported. Some of the links on this site are affiliate links, which means that if you click one and go on to buy a subscription, we may receive a commission from that company. The price you pay is exactly the same — a commission is paid out of the vendor’s marketing budget, not added to your bill.

What this changes about our recommendations

Nothing, and we hold ourselves to that in a way you can check:

  • A commission has never put a product on a list, and never will.
  • We recommend tools that pay us nothing — including free tools — whenever they are the better answer.
  • We write the drawbacks. Every review on this site names the thing the tool is bad at.
  • We tell you whether a recommendation comes from a tool in daily use or from research. See our editorial methodology.
  • No vendor sees an article before it is published, and no vendor can pay for a placement, a rating, or an edit.

Affiliate links are marked with rel="sponsored", and any page carrying them shows a disclosure notice above the content, as the FTC endorsement guidelines require.

Programs we participate in

  • Make (make.com) — workflow automation platform. We earn a commission on subscriptions started through our links.

We keep this list current as we join additional programs, and we will say so here before any new link goes live.

Several tools we recommend pay us nothing at all. Zapier has no affiliate program, and it is still our first recommendation for most readers in our Zapier vs Make comparison — where the tool that does pay us finishes second. HubSpot’s free CRM, which earns us nothing, is our default recommendation for freelancers in our CRM comparison. We mention this not as a boast but as something you can go and verify.

An affiliate link is added only after a tool has already earned its place in an article on the merits. We do not add a product because a programme exists, we do not reorder a ranking after joining one, and we do not link to a tool we would not recommend to someone who asked us in person.

Questions

If anything here is unclear, or you think a recommendation looks bought, ask directly through our contact page. We would rather answer the question than have you wonder.
